Welcome to GuitarGym! GuitarGym is a website and online service operated by SoundGym Ltd. (referred to as "GuitarGym", "SoundGym", "the Company", "we", or "us"). These Terms of Use (these "Terms") govern your access to and use of the GuitarGym website (located at guitargym.co) and all related services, features, and content provided by the Company (collectively, the "Service" or "Platform").
In these Terms, "you" or "User" means any person who accesses or uses the Service. "Content" refers to all text, graphics, images, music, videos, software and other materials provided through the Service. "User-Generated Content" refers to any Content that you or other users post, upload, or otherwise contribute to GuitarGym. By using GuitarGym, you are entering into a binding agreement with the Company, so please read these Terms carefully.
By accessing or using any part of GuitarGym, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms (including our Privacy Policy) and you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Service.
Your use of GuitarGym signifies your acceptance of this agreement. These Terms constitute a binding legal contract between you and SoundGym Ltd. regarding your use of the Platform. Continued use of GuitarGym following any updates to these Terms (see Section 13 on modifications) also signifies your acceptance of the revised terms.
GuitarGym is an online guitar learning and community platform. Our Service provides a gamified environment for guitar enthusiasts to learn, practice, and improve their skills in a fun and social way. Key features of GuitarGym include: interactive guitar lessons and exercises, daily practice routines, skill-building games, virtual collectible guitars ("vGuitars"), and community forums or "Spaces" where users can communicate, share content, and collaborate. The Platform is designed to transform routine guitar practice into an engaging experience, fostering a supportive community for users to play and grow together.
You can access GuitarGym through our website (and any authorized mobile or desktop applications, if available). Some features of the Service can be explored for free, but full access to all training tools and content may require a paid subscription (see Section 5). We continually improve and update GuitarGym, so the form and nature of the Service may change over time as we add or remove features to enhance your learning experience.
Account Creation
To access certain features of GuitarGym, you need to create a personal account. You can register in one of the following ways:
When registering, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information about yourself. You also agree to keep this information up-to-date (for example, if you change your email address). You must choose a secure password and maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account, so never share your account password with others. If you suspect unauthorized access, you must notify us immediately via our Support page.
If you sign up using Google or Apple, you authorize GuitarGym to access the name, email address, and profile information associated with your chosen account, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use the interactive features of GuitarGym. If you are between 13 and 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your region), we encourage you to involve a parent or legal guardian in your learning journey on GuitarGym. Parents and guardians should be aware of their child's activity on the platform and help ensure a safe and positive experience. Users under 13 are strictly prohibited from using GuitarGym or creating an account. We reserve the right to require proof of age or parental consent at any time to ensure compliance with this policy. If we discover that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will close the account and delete any personal information collected from that user, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Account Responsibility
You are responsible for any use of your GuitarGym account, whether you authorized it or not. If you suspect any unauthorized use of your account or any breach of security (for example, if you notice unusual activity or believe someone else has your password), you must notify us immediately via our Support page or contact email. The Company is not liable for any losses or damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to safeguard your credentials. Using someone else’s account without permission, or sharing your login details with others (especially anyone not eligible to use the Service), is a violation of these Terms.
Account Management
You may edit your profile information and account settings at any time. Some information you provide (such as your username or profile picture) may be visible to other users, so please choose details you are comfortable sharing and avoid disclosing sensitive personal data in your profile. If you wish to discontinue using GuitarGym, you can deactivate or delete your account. Account deletion may be initiated through your account settings or by contacting our support team. Please note that deleting your account is permanent – it will remove your profile, training progress, and any User-Generated Content you have contributed (although some content, like forum posts, may persist in an anonymized form if removal is not feasible). If you have an active paid subscription, you should cancel the subscription before deleting your account to avoid further billing (see Section 5 on cancellations). The Company may retain certain information after account deletion as required by law or for legitimate business purposes as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
One Account Per User
Each individual user may create only one GuitarGym account, unless explicitly permitted by the Company. Creating multiple accounts to bypass restrictions, exploit promotions, impersonate others, or for any form of abuse (such as spamming or trolling) is prohibited. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any duplicate or fraudulent accounts (see Section 12).
GuitarCoins (or coins) are the internal virtual currency of GuitarGym, which can be earned through achievements, streak rewards, and purchased using real money. GuitarCoins can be used to unlock various in-app features, enhancements, and rewards. Purchases of GuitarCoins are non-refundable.
Streaks track daily practice consistency and may provide rewards, including GuitarCoins. Missing a day may break a streak and reset rewards. Maintaining a streak encourages continuous learning and engagement within GuitarGym.
GuitarCoins cannot be exchanged for real-world currency and are non-transferable between accounts.
GuitarGym offers Challenges and contests where users can engage in structured training sessions and track their progress. Users may compete in Leaderboards based on achievements, streaks, and training performance. Leaderboard rankings and other scores may be determined by various engagement metrics, and any attempts to manipulate rankings through unfair means (such as creating multiple accounts or exploiting system mechanics) may result in penalties, including disqualification or account suspension.
GuitarGym offers both free access and paid subscription plans (known as GuitarGym Pro) for advanced features. This section explains the terms that apply to subscriptions, payments, renewals, and cancellations.
Free vs. Paid Plans
Basic registration and use of GuitarGym with limited features is free of charge. As a free user, you can access a limited version of the platform. To unlock full access to all GuitarGym content and premium features, you may choose to upgrade to a GuitarGym Pro subscription. We offer the following Pro plans:
Payment and Billing
By subscribing to a GuitarGym Pro plan, you authorize us (or our third-party payment processor) to charge the applicable subscription fees to the payment method you provide. Payment must be made by a valid credit card, debit card, PayPal, or other payment method we designate. Prices for subscriptions are listed in U.S. dollars (unless otherwise specified) and include any applicable taxes, unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for any currency conversion fees, bank charges, or additional taxes (such as VAT) that may apply. If your payment method cannot be charged (e.g., due to expiration or insufficient funds) and you do not provide an alternative method, we may suspend or cancel your subscription for non-payment. You agree to promptly update your payment information in your account settings if it changes to avoid interruption of service.
Automatic Renewals
GuitarGym monthly and yearly Pro subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period to ensure uninterrupted access. This means:
By purchasing a subscription, you agree to this auto-renewal feature. We will charge your chosen payment method automatically at the start of each new billing cycle (monthly or yearly, as applicable) until you cancel. The renewal charge will be at the then-current subscription rate for your plan, plus any applicable taxes, unless we inform you of a change in pricing (see "Changes to Fees" below). We will send you a confirmation email when you first subscribe, which includes the plan details and next renewal date. For annual plans, we may also send a reminder before renewal. It is your responsibility to monitor your subscription and renewal dates.
Cancellation of Subscription
You have the right to cancel your GuitarGym Pro subscription at any time. You can cancel through your Account Settings page on our website, or if you subscribed via a third-party platform (such as an app store or PayPal), you may need to cancel through that platform. You may also contact us via our Support page for assistance with cancellations.
Once a subscription is canceled, your account will revert to a free status at the end of the paid period, and you will lose access to Pro features unless you resubscribe.
Refund Policy
GuitarGym offers a 30-day money-back guarantee for new yearly and lifetime subscription purchases to ensure your satisfaction. If you purchase a yearly or lifetime plan and decide within the first 30 calendar days that it is not right for you, you may request a full refund of the amount paid. To do so, you must contact our customer support team within 30 days of the purchase date and explicitly request the refund under this guarantee. This refund policy applies only to your first purchase of an annual or lifetime plan (one refund per user). If you choose to cancel and refund a yearly or lifetime subscription within the 30-day window, any future re-subscription to that plan type will not be eligible for the 30-day money-back offer. Monthly subscriptions are not eligible for refunds, as monthly users can cancel month-to-month without long-term commitment. After the 30-day guarantee period for an annual or lifetime plan has passed, no refunds will be provided for that plan.
Purchases of GuitarCoins (or coins) are non-refundable.
Outside of the specific refund guarantee and legal requirements, all sales are final and all fees paid are non-refundable.
Plan Changes and Upgrades
We may offer the ability to upgrade or change your subscription plan (for example, from monthly to annual). If you upgrade, the change may take effect immediately and a prorated charge or credit may apply (depending on the situation and as explained at the time of upgrade). Downgrading from a paid plan to the free plan will generally take effect after your current paid period ends (to avoid loss of paid time).
Changes to Fees
The Company reserves the right to change the subscription fees or introduce new fees for the Service in the future. Price changes will not apply to your current subscription term but would take effect upon your next renewal. If you do not agree to a price change, you will need to cancel your subscription before the next billing date on which the new price would apply. Continuing to use the Pro Service after the price change goes into effect constitutes your acceptance of the new price.
Taxes
Where required by law, we will collect applicable taxes (such as sales tax, VAT, or GST) on subscription fees. Any taxes collected will be disclosed at checkout. You are responsible for any taxes or duties payable in your territory that we are not required to collect.
No Resale or Sharing
Your GuitarGym account and subscription are personal to you. You agree not to share your Pro account with others, resell the Service or any portion of it, or use it for the benefit of anyone other than yourself. Unauthorized sharing of a subscription (for example, posting your login for others or splitting a single license among multiple users) is a violation of these Terms and may result in suspension or termination of your account without refund.
GuitarGym is built around a community of musicians and learners. To keep our community healthy, positive, and respectful, all users must follow these Community Guidelines when interacting on the Platform or contributing content. By participating in the GuitarGym community, you agree to adhere to the following rules:
Moderation and Enforcement: GuitarGym staff and appointed community moderators (if any) have the right to remove or edit any content that violates these guidelines or the Terms, and to warn, suspend, or ban any user who violates these rules. Moderators may delete posts, comments, or other user contributions that breach the above standards or that detract from the intended spirit of the community. In most cases, we will warn users for a first offense, but severe or repeat violations can result in immediate suspension or permanent account termination. The Company also reserves the right to remove any user-generated content for any reason at any time, if we deem it necessary to protect the integrity of the community or the interests of the Company or users.
Please remember that these rules apply to all areas of GuitarGym, including posts, comments, private messages, profile descriptions, and any other user-contributed content. By following these guidelines, you help make GuitarGym a welcoming and enjoyable place for everyone to learn and share their passion for guitar.
This section explains the ownership and use of intellectual property on GuitarGym, including both the Company’s content and user-contributed content.
Ownership of GuitarGym Content: Unless otherwise indicated, all content and materials provided by the Company through the GuitarGym Service are the property of SoundGym Ltd. or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. This includes (but is not limited to) the website’s design and layout, the software and code that operate the platform, graphics, logos, artwork, audio and sound recordings provided in lessons or games, videos, text, databases, interactive features, and the overall "look and feel" of the Service. All rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms are reserved by the Company and its licensors.
We grant users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the GuitarGym Service and the Company’s content for personal, non-commercial use only, in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, distribute, modify, translate, display, perform, publish, transmit, sell, license, or otherwise exploit any content from GuitarGym (or the Service itself) except as expressly permitted in these Terms or with our prior written consent. For example, you are welcome to use GuitarGym to practice guitar and view our lessons, but you cannot republish our lesson materials on your own website, or use our games in your own product, without permission. Any unauthorized use of GuitarGym’s content or intellectual property is strictly prohibited and may result in termination of your account (Section 12) and/or legal action.
User-Generated Content: GuitarGym allows users to create, post, and share their own content on the Platform (for example, forum posts, comments, profile information, uploaded images or audio, and other materials you contribute). You retain ownership of all the intellectual property rights in the content that you create and post to GuitarGym. We do not claim ownership over your original songs, recordings, text, or other materials that you share on the Service.
However, by submitting or posting User-Generated Content on GuitarGym, you grant SoundGym Ltd. a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to use, reproduce, modify (for technical purposes, e.g., resize an image or convert a file format), adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, and display your content on the Service and in connection with marketing or promoting GuitarGym. This license is necessary for us to operate the Service (for example, to display your posts to other users, or to promote a cool user-created guitar riff on our social media). We will not sell your User-Generated Content to others or use it outside of operating and promoting GuitarGym without your permission. This license ends when you remove your content from the Service, except: (a) if your content has been shared with others as part of the Service (for instance, you posted in a public forum) and they have not deleted it; or (b) for a reasonable backup or archival copies we maintain internally.
Your Responsibilities for Content
When you post content on GuitarGym, you represent and warrant that you have the necessary rights or permissions to do so. This means, for example, if you upload a cover of a popular song, you either own the recording or have permission, and your use of it on GuitarGym will not infringe the song composer’s copyright. If you post a photo or image, you either took the photo yourself or have the rights to use it. Do not post content you do not own or have permission to use. You also agree that any content you upload will comply with our Community Guidelines (Section 6) and Usage Restrictions (Section 9). You remain solely responsible for your User-Generated Content and any consequences of sharing it. GuitarGym is not responsible for any misuse of your content by other users, but if you encounter misuse (like someone copying your post outside the platform), please let us know.
The Company does not pre-screen all User-Generated Content, but we reserve the right to remove or disable any content that violates these Terms or that we deem objectionable for any reason. We also have the right to terminate the account of any user who repeatedly infringes intellectual property rights or violates the content rules (see Section 12).
Trademarks
All trademarks, service marks, logos, and trade names displayed on GuitarGym are either our property or the property of third parties. The name "GuitarGym", the GuitarGym logo, "SoundGym", and other graphics, logos, or slogans of SoundGym Ltd. are trademarks or registered trademarks of the Company. You are not granted any right or license to use any such trademarks for any purpose without our prior written approval. This means you cannot use "GuitarGym" or our logo in the name of your own website, app, or product, or in a way that suggests we endorse your activities without permission. Any unauthorized use of our trademarks is prohibited. Other trademarks or logos that may appear on the Service (for example, the trademark of a guitar brand mentioned by a user) are the property of their respective owners. Use of those third-party marks on GuitarGym is usually nominative (to refer to the trademark owner or its products) and does not imply affiliation with or endorsement by the Company.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the information you share with us. We believe that you have a right to know our practices regarding the information we collect when you connect to, access, or use SoundGym. Our policy and practices and the type of information collected are described in detail in our Privacy Policy. If you intend to connect to, access, or use SoundGym, you must first read and agree to the Privacy Policy
We expect all users to use GuitarGym in a manner that is lawful, ethical, and in compliance with these Terms. Certain activities are strictly prohibited because they violate the spirit of our community and/or could harm other users or the Company. By using the Service, you agree NOT to engage in any of the following:
This list of restrictions is not intended to be exhaustive. It describes the general types of behaviors that are unacceptable on GuitarGym. Engaging in any of the above prohibited activities (or assisting others in doing so) is a serious violation of these Terms and may lead to immediate suspension or termination of your account (see Section 10), as well as potential legal action if warranted. We reserve the right to investigate any suspected breach of this Section and may involve law enforcement authorities or pursue legal remedies against users who violate these rules.
If you’re ever in doubt about whether something is allowed, it’s safest to err on the side of caution or ask us first. We want GuitarGym to be a secure and enjoyable environment for everyone, so we take misuse of the Service seriously.
While we hope to have you as a long-term member of the GuitarGym community, it’s important to understand that the Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access if these Terms are violated or for other reasons as outlined below.
By the Company (Suspension or Termination): SoundGym Ltd. may, at its sole discretion, suspend (temporarily disable) or terminate (permanently end) your account and/or access to all or part of the Service at any time with or without notice. This can occur for any reason or no reason, but typical reasons include:
If we terminate your account, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You must stop using GuitarGym, and you will no longer have access to your account, including any content or data (so we advise you to keep backup copies of any content you have posted that you wish to retain). We may delete your profile and any content or information that you have uploaded to the Service, though copies of certain information may be retained in our backups or archives for a period of time or as required by law. You agree that the Company shall not be liable to you or any third party for any termination of your account or deletion of your content.
In cases of minor or first-time violations, we might choose to suspend your account (disable access) as a warning or as an interim measure while investigating issues. Suspension may include restricting your access to certain features (for example, temporary chat ban, or read-only access to forums). We will determine the appropriate action at our discretion.
By You (Voluntary Termination): You have the right to stop using GuitarGym at any time. If you decide to terminate your account (delete your account), you can do so through your account settings (for free accounts) or by contacting our support team. If you are a subscriber and wish to terminate your account, you should first cancel any active subscription (see Section 5 on how to cancel) to avoid further charges. Upon your request and once any subscription issues are resolved, we will delete or deactivate your account. Please be aware that, as noted in Section 5, deleting a Pro (paid) account before your subscription ends may cause you to lose the remaining paid time, and such deletion is treated as a voluntary termination without refund (unless otherwise agreed upon with support).
If you simply stop using GuitarGym without formally deleting your account, your account may remain active (and these Terms will still apply) until you or we take steps to terminate it.
Effect of Termination: Whether an account is terminated by you or by us, certain provisions of these Terms will survive termination. These include (but are not limited to) Intellectual Property rights – we don’t lose ownership rights to our content, and you don’t lose ownership of your content you posted (though you grant us the licenses described, which may persist as noted), Disclaimers and Liability Limitations, Dispute Resolution and Governing Law, and this section regarding what happens upon termination. Termination of your account does not relieve you of any obligation to pay any outstanding fees (if you still owe us money for any reason) or refund any charges already incurred (we generally do not provide refunds except as allowed in Section 7).
After termination, you will no longer have access to the Service, and you should not attempt to create a new account without our permission if your account was terminated by us. We also reserve the right to refuse re-registration to any individual account that was previously terminated for violations.
No Liability for Termination: You agree that we will not be liable to you or any third-party for any termination of your access to the Service, or for any loss of your data or content associated with your account, provided that we have not violated any applicable laws in carrying out the termination. It is your responsibility to ensure you have copies of any personal data or content you need prior to terminating your account or prior to any action we take that might remove your access to such data.
The following section contains important disclaimers of warranties and limitations of our liability regarding your use of GuitarGym. These provisions are critical as they allocate certain risks between you and us (SoundGym Ltd.) and limit the Company’s potential liabilities. If you are unsure about the meaning of these terms, please seek legal advice. By agreeing to these Terms, you acknowledge these disclaimers and limitations.
No Warranties (Service Provided “AS IS”): GuitarGym and all content, products, and services included on or otherwise made available to you through the Platform are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. SoundGym Ltd. and its affiliates, licensors, and suppliers expressly disclaim all warranties and representations, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will meet your requirements or expectations, or that it will achieve any intended results (for example, we make no promise that you will become a guitar virtuoso by using our training games – that part is up to you!). We also do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any defects or errors will be corrected. While we strive for accuracy, we do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any information or content provided through GuitarGym (for instance, user posts or third-party information) and assume no liability or responsibility for any errors or omissions. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.
Professional Advice: Any information or content provided on GuitarGym (such as guitar lessons, tips, or discussions) is intended for general informational and educational purposes. It is not professional advice (legal, medical, health, etc.). You should consult appropriate professionals for advice tailored to your situation. For example, guidance on GuitarGym about exercise or stretching to avoid injury while playing is not a substitute for advice from a medical professional. We are not liable for actions you take based on information you obtain from the Service.
Hearing and Health Disclaimer: Playing musical instruments or using audio equipment at high volumes can potentially cause hearing loss or other injuries. GuitarGym, in combination with amplifiers, headphones, or speakers, may produce sound levels that could be harmful to your hearing or your equipment. You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to use the Service safely and to take appropriate precautions to protect your hearing and health. This includes keeping volume levels at a safe level, taking breaks to avoid strain, and using proper technique when practicing. SoundGym Ltd. is not liable for any hearing damage, bodily injury, or property damage (such as damage to your speakers or headphones) that may result from your use of the Service. If you experience any pain, dizziness, ringing in your ears, or hearing loss while using GuitarGym, stop using the Service immediately and consult a healthcare professional. By using GuitarGym, you assume all risks related to your use of the Platform, including any risk of physical injury or damage.
Third-Party Content and Services: GuitarGym may contain links to third-party websites or services, or display content provided by other users or third parties (for example, posts by users, or content provided through an integration with a third-party). We do not have control over third-party websites, services, or content. We do not endorse or assume any responsibility for any third-party sites, information, materials, products, or services. If you access a third-party website or service from GuitarGym (for example, a link to YouTube for a music video, or a link someone shared in a forum), you do so at your own risk, and you understand that these Terms and our Privacy Policy do not apply to those external sites or services. You should review the terms and policies of any third-party site or service that you visit. We are not liable for any loss or damage that may arise from your interactions with third-party content or services.
Service Availability: While we strive to keep GuitarGym running smoothly, we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available or without interruption. Downtime can occur for maintenance, updates, or due to technical issues or external factors beyond our control. You acknowledge that computer and telecommunications systems are not fault-free and occasional periods of downtime or slow performance are inevitable. We do not guarantee the Service will be available at any particular time or location, that it will be secure or that it will meet your expectations. We also cannot guarantee that any technical issues or defects will be corrected promptly. We will attempt to give advance notice of significant maintenance downtime when feasible, but we are not obligated to do so.
Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SoundGym Ltd., its directors, officers, employees, agents, partners, and affiliates shall not be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages whatsoever, or any loss of profits, revenues, business opportunity, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to (a) your use of or inability to use GuitarGym; (b) any conduct or content of any other user or third party on or via the Service (including defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of third parties); or (c) any content obtained from the Service or any permanent or temporary cessation of the Service. This limitation of liability applies whether the claim is based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In plain language: we are not responsible if something goes wrong while you’re using GuitarGym, beyond what we are required to be responsible for under the law. For example, if the site is down and you miss a practice day streak, or if another user says something to upset you, or if there’s an error in a lesson that causes confusion - those are not scenarios in which the Company will compensate you.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities, meaning some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In those jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Except where prohibited by law, the total cumulative liability of SoundGym Ltd. to you for all claims arising out of or relating to your use of the Service or these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) for the use of the Service in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the claim, or five U.S. Dollars (USD $5), whichever is greater. If you have not paid anything to us in that time, then, to the extent allowed by law, you agree that you will be limited to injunctive relief only (i.e., to stop using the Service) and not entitled to damages of any kind. This limitation is an essential part of the bargain between us – without it, we would not be able to offer the Service under the same terms or cost.
Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SoundGym Ltd., its parent, affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (collectively, the "Indemnified Parties"), from and
